What should I bring with me on my cruise?

Layers of Clothes: Its great to bring extra clothes should the weather in Alaska change at any point. This means having a long sleeved shirt covered by a light sweater, and you may want to consider a parka or jacket if it rains. You'll find temperatures that fluctuate, so be prepared. In some ports in the summer, highs may reach well into the 70s!

Accessories: You will definitely want to bring your most comfortable pair of walking shoes. Consider wearing gloves or a hat as well, especially for the day in Glacier Bay.

Gear: Of course you'll want to bring your camera, optics, batteries / chargers, and memory cards. A tote bag is also recommended to keep your gear both onboard and ashore -- and you won't want to forget your binoculars!

Do you offer cancellation insurance?

We strongly believe in offering you not only the best value for their vacation packages, but also the best value in cancellation protection. Accordingly, we are pleased to offer you cancellation insurance through CSA Travel Protection - an Industry leader recognized for outstanding customer service.

CSA is recognized by both travelers and travel agents for the highest quality of customer service in the industry. If you ever need assistance, they are there to help!

Here are some reasons why you should consider CSA for all your trip insurance needs:

Superior Customer Service: CSA works daily to exceed their customers' expectations. Calls are answered by live service professionals. Their staff is dedicated to delivering a quality customer service experience every time. They make every effort to service our customers by sharing relevant information quickly, efficiently and professionally.

Supplier Financial Default (Bankruptcy Protection): CSA's Supplier Financial Default coverage protects you against the bankruptcy of your travel supplier, provided the financial default occurs more than fourteen days after your purchase of the policy. To qualify, you must first purchase a qualified CSA Travel Protection travel insurance and assistance plan within 24 hours of making your final payment.

Emergency Medical Transportation: This valuable service provides you with the peace of mind that a serious medical emergency will not financially devastate you. It also assures that wherever in the world you are, you will be transported to adequate medical facilities should something happen.

Coverage From Home to Home: Some policies only cover you only while on board ship or just on your vacation. Unfortunate events can happen en route to and after your trip. That's why CSA covers you from the day after you buy your policy right up until you return home.

Trip Interruption at 150% of the Trip Cost: We know that interrupting your trip is often more expensive than its original cost. If a trip is interrupted, many competitors' policies only cover up to the original cost and credit cards often won't provide coverage at all. CSA goes even further: We provide a 150% Trip Interruption benefit that helps pay for you to get back home.

Damage To Your Rental Car Coverage: (Not available to residents of TX and OR) This travel insurance benefit provides primary coverage if the car you rented on your trip is damaged due to collision, fire, flood, theft, vandalism, windstorm or hail. Because CSA provides primary coverage, in most instances you never need to inform your car insurance agency if a problem occurs. Also, because CSA pays first on these claims, it eliminates the need to purchase additional collision waivers from the rental car companies.

What happens if I have to cancel my cruise?

We understand that no one wants to ever have to cancel a vacation however things do occur that can sometime result in cancellations. For that reason, we STRONGLY suggest cancellation protection - either purchased through our agency or through another provider. There is a $250 Agency Cancellation penalty enforced from the time of booking in addition to the cruise line penalties outlined below. However, you will not lose that $250 per person as you may apply that towards another Cruise of equal or greater value in the future. Cruise line cancellation penalties are as follows:

75 - 31 Days prior to sailing - $250 per person

30 - 9 Days prior to sailing - 50% per person penalty

8 - 0 days prior - 100% per person penalty

What if I have dietary or special needs requirements?

NCL strongly believes that guests with special needs should have the amenities they need to enjoy their cruise. As such, each ship offers designated staterooms with wider doorways and bathrooms that will accommodate wheelchairs and staterooms with lights and under-pillow vibrating alarms for guests with hearing impairments. Guide dogs are permitted on all NCL ships. Many staterooms have refrigerators that can be used to store medications that must be kept cold.
Any physical disability or request requiring special treatment or attention should be reported to NCL's Ship Coordinator Department when the reservation is made, so that appropriate accommodations can be provided. NCL reserves the right to refuse or to revoke passage to anyone in such physical or mental condition as to be unfit for travel or who, in the judgment of the carrier, may be a danger to themselves or others.

Diabetes: Refrigerators are available in many staterooms for storing insulin.

Diet: NCL offers breakfast, lunch and dinner menus that include low-calorie, haute cuisine recipes from Cooking Light magazine. Our top-rated chefs can also prepare vegetarian entrees (nutrition information provided), as well as low/no sodium and low/no cholesterol entrees. Sugar-free and fat-free desserts are also available.

Hearing Impairments: Select staterooms are available on most ships for guests with hearing disabilities. Among the adaptive devices to make their cruise more enjoyable are in-stateroom lights and vibrating alarms that fit under a pillow and alert the guest to a doorbell, phone or emergency situation.

Medical Care for Minors Traveling Alone: All guests 18 years or younger must have a least one guest 21 years or older traveling with them in the same stateroom. A minor not traveling with a parent or guardian must produce a notarized parental or guardian consent letter authorizing medical treatment in case of an emergency. This letter must be presented to an NCL representative at the pier. Failure to produce the letter at embarkation may result in boarding being denied. There are no refunds in the event of denied boarding.

Onboard Medical Care: Guests are entitled to free medication for seasickness. Customary charges may be made for all other services. Commonly used medications are kept on board and may be purchased at the office of the ship's doctor. Dramamine, Meclazine, Alka-Seltzer and aspirin are available free at the Purser's Desk.

Oxygen Users: Guests who need oxygen or require oxygen therapy are welcome on all NCL ships; however, they must supply their own oxygen and liquid oxygen is not permitted onboard.

Pregnancy: NCL will not accept guests who will have entered their 24th week of pregnancy by the time their travel with NCL concludes. A statement from the expectant mother's doctor, stating her due date and fitness to travel must be sent to Ship Coordinator Department. NCL will not be responsible or liable for any complications of pregnancy which arise or occur during the cruise.

Wheelchair Users Sailing In Disabled Cabins: Though NCL does have wheelchairs on board for emergency or isolated incidents, guests that require fulltime use of a wheel chair must provide their own. Motorized wheelchairs and Scooters are welcome as well; however, they must be powered by gel-cell batteries. Due to safety regulations, NCL will not accept any wet-cell or acid battery-powered wheelchairs on board the ships. The wheelchair battery charger must be adaptable to 110 voltages.

Wheelchair Users Not-Sailing in Disabled Cabins: Though NCL does have wheelchairs on board for emergency or isolated incidents, guests that require fulltime use of a wheel chair must provide their own. Wheelchairs are welcome; however, they must be collapsible if the guest is not booked in a disabled cabin.

Do I need a passport?

Yes - As of December 31, 2006, all U.S. citizens are required to have passports for travel within the Western Hemisphere, per the recommendations of the 9/11 Commission and the 2004 Intelligence Reform Bill. To implement the law, the Departments of State and Homeland Security proposed a phase-in program referred to as the Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative (WHTI). As announced in April 2005, the WHTI program originally recommended three different deadlines for U.S. citizens to obtain a passport, depending on the region they were traveling to within the Western Hemisphere. The government has now modified their original timeline to the following requirements for U.S. citizens:

* December 31, 2006 - Passport or other accepted document required for all air or sea travel within the Western Hemisphere.

* December 31, 2007 - Passport or other accepted document required for all U.S. border crossings.
